Southwell racecourse up and running after flood damage

01

Well done to our team at B+K Property Services who got Southwell racecourse back to full working capacity for the first time since it was forced to close due to extensive flooding in October 2023.
Our property services division has been working on the refurbishment of various areas of the racecourse which were underwater by as much as three feet after Storm Babet battered Britain last autumn. The track was only able to open its first-floor facilities to owners and trainers, stable staff and a small number of annual members as the racecourse worked hard to fix the damage.
Access was offered to only 100 members of the public for the £100,000 BETUK Winter Derby on Saturday 24th February, Southwell’s first group race, which sold out.
But, following the extensive refurbishment, the racecourse fully opened its doors last Friday August 2, with a six-race event.
